Thank you, Valentina

‘I will tie your laces. I will put your foot-up device on’. By 4pm it was pretty cool as there had been no sun. Valentina brought my shoes outside and helped me get them on. She then helped me with my thermal jacket. I found it very moving to watch her do this. She also tied the laces tighter than anyone else and put the foot-up on tighter as well. All this makes walking easier. This comes on top of carrying plates and food for me.

We made it up to the common, more a mountain hike for me now, and I did a couple of circuits. These circuits were made much easier by the fact that the groundsman at Kings Langley Cricket Club cut the grass on the boundary rope for me to walk. You can see the grass highway in this photo.

Sometimes it all feels like an illusion.
