Daddy’s Trip To York

Dear Sebastian,

Here is the story of my adventure to York!

Mummy did all the packing, got daddy dressed and made breakfast.

The minibus from home to the station was a Citroën. It was a 54, so 11 years old. The Subaru is an 04, so the Citroën is 6 months younger!

Daddy drove onto the ramp. I had to drive straight, to keep on the ramp. Then the man, called Gary, pressed a button and the lift went up. I then drove into the minibus.

It was very loud inside, and also bumpy. At the station daddy drove backwards out of the minibus. I made sure the wheels followed a straight line. The wheelchair just fitted into the lift at the station! Here are some pictures.

At the railway station a man put down a ramp. I drove up the ramp onto the train.

The lady on the train gave me some chicken and salad. I also had coffee.

At York I tried to get in one taxi, but it was too small. Then I got in this one. It was a Peugeot and the registration was 13. My head touched the roof. It was hard to park in the Peugeot.

Then we drove to Grandma and Grandad’s. Here is a photo of the taxi at their house.

I did it!!

  1. Hi Andrew,

Pleasing to hear that in a world where ‘Garys’ are on the decline a ‘Gary’ was able to assist in your journey 🙂

    I enjoy your posts!

    Gary

  2. Hi Andrew, lots of great details about the road transport but what about the train? The train – we need more info about the train please. Just kidding, glad to see your can travel to York and see your parents. Cheers for now. Christine.

  3. Andrew, really pleased to see your pictures of your first big expediation with the “mini wheels”. Seems that things worked out well in spite of the low roof in the Peugeot.
Best wishes to you and family.
