The Fantastic Race 123 is a tale of fast cars, incredible racing and amazing challenges. Two schoolfriends drive across Europe in the car of their dreams. To make it better, no adults allowed. The story takes place in Europe’s most famous cities, and shows how intuition, passion and practice go a long way. Fasten your seatbelt and get ready for the ride.

I wrote this story for Sebastian between January and March this year. You can now enjoy it as an Amazon Audible audiobook (tap or click here) 124. You have three options to buy it – check out the box on the right of the page – either sign up for a trial subscription or enjoy as part of your existing one, OR make a one-off purchase with 1-click ordering. Price is US$6.99, or your local currency equivalent.

The stars of the book are Sebastian and his good friend, Thomas. It lasts a little over an hour, and is suitable for children from five to one hundred and five.

I will tell the story of the creation of the story and audiobook, but not today. For now, I want to thank the people who made it happen.

Steve Rose, Thomas’s dad, for recording and editing, for use of the studio and fantastic technical expertise.
Sophie Aldred125, parent in Valentina’s class, accent legend and megastar126, for telling the story.
Sarah, well you know her by now, for the story illustration, the idea of an audiobook, for finding and working with a publisher and some valuable advice on the story.
Jane, to whom the story is dedicated, for being Sebastian’s mum.
John Liddle, account manager from the eye gaze computer company, Tobii Dynavox, for persistence when things got tough.
The carers, nurses, housekeepers, kitchen staff, managers and reception, lifestyle and maintenance staff of Water Mill House care home, who keep me going every day.

The above people have one key quality in common, which is a commitment to getting it just right, however hard that is. Thanks!
