4I enjoyed writing the story of the Müller family. I saw decisions from their point of view. I felt the passion for the bakery. I felt the joy and the strain.

Our book, Die Kleine Backstube, is now in Miami, Singapore, Zurich, Brisbane, Melbourne, Boston, Geneva, Northern Ireland, Madrid, Dublin, Kings Langley and many other places. I really hope that you are rolling with the ups and downs of running the bakery. I would love your feedback. You can leave a review on Amazon. Constructive, balanced feedback please!!

Let me share one great story. A nurse in the care home, from Moldova and with excellent English but no German, looked at the book with her daughter. They developed their own story based on the illustrations. Just great! I have seen the joy in the face of two people, who did German a few decades ago, and who can understand something. Brilliant!

Some of the staff asked for a signed copy. The MND Association magazine is called Thumbprint, and that’s what we did.

Today was Ascension. Classes 1 – 4 walked up to Ivinghoe Beacon, as every year. Good to mark this special day that way. Sebastian and Thomas came by afterwards. Sweaty and rosy-cheeked. Here is a photo of them.

St Albans cathedral offered welcome cool today (my overheating is out of control). I love it there. Thank you Sarah and Woody and thanks Wil for the deceptively effective fan.

Thank you so much for buying Die Kleine Backstube – it means a lot!

  1. Thank goodness for St Albans Cathedral! We took refuge there when our daughter was a baby with eczema and the heat made it worse. Love to all xxxx
