I learnt to drive in a Nissan Micra in 1984. I/we have owned, or was given by my employer, the following vehicles to date:

1987 – 1987 Plymouth Fury 1978 model (North Carolina)
1990 – 1992 Vauxhall Nova, silver
1992 – 1994 Vauxhall Cavalier, black, J969KRK, P&G company car
1994 – 1996 Mazda two-door hatchback, green, IRI UK company car
1996 – 1996 Tofas Sahin, Turkish Fiat 131, white, IRI Turkey company car
1996 – 1998 Renault 19 (ondokus) saloon, dark green, IRI Turkey company car
1998 – 2000 Alfa Romeo 145 (centoquarantacinque), blue, IRI Italy company car
1998 – 2000 Alfa Romeo 33 Sportwagen, dark green
2002 – 2004 Honda Sky 50cc scooter, black, bought in Madrid
2004 – 2005 Holden Commodore 3.5 litre, blue, Amadeus Australia company car
2004 – now Subaru Forrester 2.5 litre, blue
2005 – 2006 Holden Commodore 3.5 litre, grey, Amadeus Australia company car
2006 – 2007 Toyota Corolla, white with Amadeus in blue letters, Amadeus Australia company car
2007 – 2008 Honda Civic 2002 model, blue, bought in the UK
2009 – 2010 Audi 80 (from the 90s), white, stopped working in Cannes
2011 – 2012 Citroën C1, black, commuting car to Heathrow
2012 – 2016 VW Passat saloon, silver, Vodafone company car
2016 – now VW Transporter, blackberry, funded partly by our kind friends

  1. I’d like to see Jeremy Clarkson pass his comment over that eclectic mix!
    I bet the Alfa’s were the most fun to drive and the VW’s reliable and solid.
    I drive a VW Passat estate in 2005 when she worked in Hamburg. That car was just so reliable.
    I think a list like that Andrew will set off so many comments!

    Not sure if you still follow Facebook, but on my feed you may have seen that i attended a combined Birthday party and IBML getogether in London last weekend.
    Most of those present I had not seen in 28 years.
    As we chatted about absent friends that night, I shared what I knew from your blog and there were many loving comments and wishes sent your way.

  2. My first car was a Vauxhall Nova, I was driving it about the same time as you had yours. I learned to drive during the 1990 World Cup summer.
