Cause of als revealed

I have spoken with a fair few people of different medical persuasions over the last few months. What I like about each of them is that they are trying to help me. Several have said that they believe that als may be caused by toxicity in the body, specifically by heavy metals. Sounds reasonable.

Now I know why I have als. In 1982 I bought Wheels of Steel by Saxon, I have listened to Stairway to Heaven by Led Zep at least two hundred times; I bought Rainbow Rising the day it was released. I have the entire Whitesnake and AC/DC collections, and have seen various heavy metal bands live, most recently AC/DC in Marseille and Nice.

In the mid-1980s at school there were many different music and cultural genres. In our fifth form we had the New Romantics, the Mods, the Rockers and the Punks. I guess they are happy they were not into heavy metal, running around with all their motor neurones working perfectly.

Now, I wait for the analytical among you to ask about all the heavy metal lovers who do not have als. Well, I can’t answer that.

If my love of heavy metal is the cause of als, then it is just a price worth paying; Tommy Vance would agree.*
