Kings Cross

Drove through Kings Cross area on the way to a hospital appointment yesterday. Great redevelopment.

Kings Cross Station where the York trains arrive. Memories of excitement of London as a child and the feeling of getting in the warm train and seeing the lights in the night.

Mattas who is Egyptian always sits outside the cafe and knows the world.

Chief inspector of schools says we need more focus on further education colleges; German model or similar. Too much university  obsession. Agree.

Every time someone feeds me I am grateful.

When I watch people walk I am impressed by the mechanics of it

Great to have Sebastian and Thomas visiting.

  1. Nice to see you enjoying the sun!

Living in Switzerland has a downside in the autumn and early winter. Especially with high pressure, a layer of freezing fog descends upon wide areas of the Mittelland – so basically most places between Bern and Zürich / butted up against the Voralpen.
We can go days without seeing the sun, but always aware of the fact that 1000m higher up, those people fortunate enough to be living in the mountains are enjoying the fine weather – just like you in your great photo.

  2. Yep – Kings Cross has moved on since the 80’s when the arty crowd mixed with Toms, squatters and drug abusers. I remember stumbling across a rave one night round the back of the station while I was looking for a cheap late night doner..
I should put my rose-tinted glasses back on when referring to the 80’s.
