‘I can’t speak German. Let me know when you publish the English version.’
I am delighted to tell you that the English translation of Die Kleine Backstube is published today. It’s called The Little Bakery. Step into a traditional German town, smell the freshly baked bread and coffee and meet the interesting characters. I very much hope that you enjoy it.
The book is a great Christmas present, and even includes a chapter featuring a German Christmas market.
Profits from the book support my family and will help secure their future. To maximise the money going to the Knowlman family, we have built our own online bookstore. Tap or click here.
A huge thanks to Sarah for illustrating the story, for managing design and layout with the Choir Press and for being the distribution manager and doer.
Jacob Buckton recently left the school our kids attend, to pursue university study. Six weeks before start of term, we asked him if he could translate the German version into English. Three weeks later, it was done. We had plenty of back and forth, and it was a great experience. Thanks Jacob.
A key part of the book’s success is selling it from my own website. Enter Wil Berdinner. As well as being busy with a young family and a new job, Wil learnt about Woocommerce and built the bookstore. Thanks Wil.
Lastly, thanks to Miles and Rachel at the Choir Press.
My family and I really appreciates your support. Thanks for buying The Little Bakery.
