RIP Joost van der Westhuizen

‘Why not me?’ was his answer when asked ‘Do you ever wonder why me?’ Joost van der Westhuizen, Springbok rugby legend, has died from MND. He used his name and influence to help people with MND in South Africa.

What do we (all) do with our limited time on earth, especially once the games start in your mind?

I’ve written a book in German, which we will publish; it was inspired by Valentina. I am writing a story for Sebastian now. Of course I spend as much time with family as possible.

My overall health was not improved by the last ten minutes of Watford’s 2-1 victory against Burnley at the weekend. At least it got my heart rate up. The day ended badly when I drove my 200KG wheelchair against Jane’s arm; this after driving in matchday traffic. Painful and scary.
