Valentina’s Store

The brilliant Advent Fair at Rudolf Steiner School, Kings Langley. Mega catering, huge home baking effort, themed cafés, grottos, shows, candle dipping, decorating team busy all week. People come to the Advent Fair from far and wide.

Driving up Langley Hill, I saw the traffic cones on the road. I used to put them out from the back of the blue Sherpa van. Jane spent alot of the week making decorations and put in a big shift in the kitchen.

Valentina worked really hard to get everything ready for her stall. Her needlework is creative and well made, and she is learning about pricing, merchandising, tracking sales and cash. The most common question: ‘Did you really make all that?’ I was as proud of how she spoke to everyone as I was of her work. Plenty to learn as well, I am sure.

Paying 50% of the stall cost entitled me to some of the retail real estate. It’s great see people thumb through a book and walk away with one. Thanks for buying one or two. I wonder what they’ll think.

Thanks to Miss Anna, Mrs Campman and Caron for teaching and encouraging Valentina with handwork, and for providing sewing machines. Thanks Gerwyn and Jane for helping me with setting up the stall. Thanks to Caron and Gerwyn for help with all preparation.

Well done Valentina! Brilliant!!

PS – she will do custom orders. I don’t take a cut for referrals, honest guv.
