‘Sure you can stay with us’, ‘you know I cannot dress myself and need help in and out of the shower’, ‘no problem’. Phil and Jina are busy people (I mean busy). 12 days, sure.

Hospital bed rented, bedroom upended (thank you Jade), toilet seat raiser bought, tipping armchair rented and placed in the lounge. Meet at MIA, unpack suitcases, a beer and some lovely food, Jina and Jade get the powered chair up the little step, help undress, pyjamas on, putting things in the right place, coming down at 4am, coffee. Morning shower – it’s just a body – dressing, omelette. 12 days. Care, kindness, helping.

Great to catch up; thank you Phil and Jay for getting me here. Why do I deserve that? 12 days of ideas, laughter, tears, conversation and great people.

Thank you Phil and Jina. Jane and I are so grateful.
